Overview

Canon USA’s Sales Training team helps sales representatives increase their effectiveness in selling Canon solutions through web-based and instructor-led training programs. The Sales Training team is looking for a creative, tech-savvy Instructional Designer with experience building performance-based learning solutions for new program launches, products, sales skills, business processes and systems.
 
In the Corporate Curriculum Development Specialist (Specialist, Curriculum Develop) role, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing and implementing web-based and instructor-led training for our sales force. If you are passionate about learning and have experience in instructional design – then this job could be for you!
 
Position will work out of our Melville, NY headquarters.
 
This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days).  Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.

Responsibilities

- Research and analyze new sales training requests to clarify the problem/business need, determine the course goal(s) and identify the target audience’s existing knowledge and skills around the topic
- Design learning points, outlines, content maps, knowledge checks, and exercises for each course that align with the course goal(s)
- Develop the content assets that were determined in the design phase, integrating technologies to create interactive and technically functional courseware designed to communicate the content following adult learning theory
- Implement the course and conduct a project debrief to evaluate specifically what was effective/ineffective during the project development and to determine what to improve for future projects
- Use project management best practices to manage stakeholder expectations and deliver courseware on time and within scope
- Complete control documents as per department standards

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 3 to 5 years of related experience
- Corporate Curriculum; Corporate Learning; Corporate Training; Instructional Design experience within a corporate setting is required
- Experience with Adobe Captivate 2019 or higher is required
- Experience with the ADDIE Instructional Design Methodology is required
- Experience with MS Office is required
- Experience with Photoshop, Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus
- Individual must possess a clean valid state driver's license in order to obtain the position
- This position requires driving, therefore a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are necessary. Additionally, because this position requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job, must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies
