About the Role

The Senior Advisor, Risk Management provides support for the daily operations and the strategic direction of all functional areas within the Risk Management Department, which include Underwriting, Bid Review and Contracts, Dealer Finance and Documentation.  The Senior Advisor, Risk Management will collaborate with internal and external partners and customers in various Sales Channels to effectively manage credit and documentation risk, while ensuring that company new business volume and profitability goals are met.  The Senior Advisor will also support core administrative functions including but not limited to accounting, audit, legal and compliance to ensure that company policies and procedures are being followed to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. 

Your Impact

- Review credit requests and render sound credit decisions within assigned credit authority and obtaining decisions for transactions outside of authority in accordance with CFS policies and procedures and Risk Rating guidelines
- Engage directly with finance and accounting executives at customers to obtain financial information and discuss financial information
- Collaborate with the Sales Channel Partners to structure large and challenging credit requests
- Leverage the CFS Credit Scoring Model to support timely small ticket decisions
- Assist in performing regular validations and updates to the CFS Credit Scoring Model and other front end processing systems as required
- Underwrite potential new manufacturer programs and vendor partners for the non-Canon CFS Sales Channels (e.g. Broker and Vendor Finance)
- Underwrite customers, manufacturers and dealers in the Dealer Finance group in accordance with CFS policies and procedures
- Research and analyze federal and state rules, regulations and interpretive guidance, and determines their applicability to CFS, as well as operational processes and procedures required to comply
- Monitor changes to applicable federal and state regulations, laws and policies and advise senior management and company employees in advance of emerging regulatory and compliance issues
- Assist in performing regular reviews, audits and updates of Risk Management Department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with established goals and targets
- Collaborate with the CFS Accounting and Human Resources departments as well as internal and external auditors to complete periodic audits as required
- Develop and manage fraud identification and prevention tools, systems, and policies and procedures for all Risk Management groups
- Assist in managing relationships with both internal CFS and CUSA legal counsel and resources as well as external legal counsel
- Assist in creating, reviewing and negotiating various RFP, agreements, contracts and documentation utilized with dealers, manufacturers and customers
- Participate in regularly scheduled Workout and Charge-off Meetings and assist CFS Collections and Legal/Workout groups in underwriting and remediating problem customers
- Serve as coach and mentor to less experienced members of the Risk Management Department and assist in their professional growth and development
- Participate in Risk Management and company-wide special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned

About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring

- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, including at least 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience in equipment finance and/or commercial lending, including business and personal credit analysis, financial statement analysis, and automated credit scoring
- Experience leading and motivating employees, with ability to delegate responsibilities to achieve desired outcomes
- Best in class customer service and relationship management skills
- Strong analytical and decision making skills
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills

We are providing the anticipated salary range for this role: $117,790 - $176,390 annually

Hybrid - This position offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Tuesdays and Wednesdays and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in-office attendance on other days).
